Throughout the years, flagpoles have evolved along with flags. From the simple wood pole that carries the mark of honor, flagpoles are now being used to carry advertisement, sentiments and signals. It is not surprising that flagpoles have progressed to various designs to suit its different functions. One such kind is the telescopic flagpole.
What is a Telescopic Flagpole?
Telescopic flagpoles are used in displaying one or more flags like in a banner. It consists of at least two stiff cylindrical tubes that can be extended or retracted easily just like that of a telescope. It is used for uncomplicated installation and removal of flag or group of flags. Extension can be stopped at a certain point, and it can be locked to secure the desired height of the pole by either screws or lock clip which are integrated in the set. A telescopic flagpole, when bought, usually includes rotational flag attachment for more than one flag, a protective cap that is sometimes also ornamental at the end of the pole and a ground stake or a mounting bracket and screws. This type of flagpole does not need a rope to hoist a flag up as the flag can be attached before extending the length of the pole. This kind of flagpole is never made of wood; rather, it is almost always made up of metal.
Uses of Telescopic Flagpoles
Since the telescopic flagpole is very versatile, it has been one of the more famous flagpoles of choice. It is good for temporary or seasonal use. It is very flexible and portable that it can be carried around for various uses. Here are some of the uses of a telescopic flagpole:
- In residential places, this flagpole can be planted on the ground easily. It can also be mounted on the walls outside or inside the house.
- In commercial buildings, the telescopic flagpole can be mounted on the walls either outside or inside.
- For occasional indoor meetings and the like, the telescopic flagpole can easily be planted or mounted where needed.
- For car parades as some telescopic flagpoles also comes with car braces.
- For businesses such as retail stores, it can be braced on the wall.
- For sailing, it can either be braced on the wall or used with a water-filled base.
- For special outdoor events such as picnics and fairs, the telescopic flagpole can either be temporarily planted or supported by a water-filled base.
