Waterbed Mattress in Different Sizes and with Different Thickness and Stability

BedHave you ever wondered how it feels like to sleep on a waterbed? There is a huge difference between sleeping on one and on an ordinary bed, and it’s about time you decide which is the superior among the two.

Waterbed Mattresses Versus Ordinary Mattresses

On an ordinary mattress, it would be foolish to invest in one that is either too soft or too hard. But since you have very limited options in the market, most probably, you’ll end up with a firm bed. Still, that is not enough because you’re still not guaranteed a baby-like sleep on your new mattress since the firmness of a bed could affect how you sleep.

On an ordinary mattress, those who are prone to allergies could have allergic attacks for a period of time. However, waterbeds are very hypoallergenic. This type of bed does not accumulate dust mites or other skin particles in the interior of the mattress, so there would be no sneezing provided you clean it regularly.

Instead of relieving your tired back, an ordinary mattress can aggravate the pain when you can’t relax properly because the firmness of the bed does not support your back. With a waterbed, the mattress shapes itself around the person sleeping in the bed, so the body is fully supported. What’s more, with the soothing and calming effect it gives, with the help of the heater and the motions, you’ll wake up feeling like a brand new person.

Basics about Waterbed Mattresses

Waterbed mattresses have different thickness and degrees of stability. It can run from free flow which means one little move will cause a wave to a mattress with almost no motion whatsoever. The stability of a mattress is already decided when you purchase it. You’ll have to select what degree of motion you’ll want your waterbed to come in. The usual lifespan of a waterbed mattress could reach up to fifteen years as long as you care properly for the bed.

For sizes, soft-sided waterbeds are available at universal sizes of king, queen, twin, and single. For hard-sided waterbeds, the king’s size would change to 6 x 7 feet and the queen would be 5x 7 feet.

Maintaining the mattress would be very easy since vinyl mattress only needs regular cleaning. Use vinyl conditioners to wipe the exterior and water conditioners for the interior of the mattress to avoid the buildup of bacteria.
