Waterbed Heaters and Safety Liners with Thermostats

Have you ever tried sleeping on a waterbed only to wake up with a horrible stomachache and your belly full of gas? How about tossing and turning from the cold? Well, fret no longer, the answer to your horrible nights is here.

What are Waterbed Heaters?

Yes, sir, there is such a thing as waterbed heaters. In fact, heaters are almost as essential as the tap water you place inside your mattress. A waterbed is known for its comfort and the heat it emits in cold winter.

Waterbed heaters are very safe. These instruments of science are double insulated with only one design in their lifespan - to warm a waterbed. However, with wrong usage, such as plugging it in a wet surface, it could cause danger both to the appliance and to the person. But with proper precaution (such as reading the owner’s manual), then your heater would outlast even your mattress.

Heaters work this way - they are placed beneath the mattress and a safety liner with a thermostat within easy access so you can adjust the heat to your preference. After changing the temperature, you would have to wait for at least three days to make sure that the temperature you wanted and the heat you are receiving is accurate.

You would still have to plug in the heater in the heat of summer – although you will have to lower the thermostat. This is because a bedroom’s air temperature would be below a normal person’s skin temperature during the heat. If the heater is disconnected, the bed will immediately begin to cool.

Waterbed Heaters and Where to Get Them

There are normally two types of heaters - a full-watt heater and a low-watt heater. It is advisable to buy a low-watt heater to avoid costly bills. The energy consumption of some heaters is equal to those of a refrigerator. Some, however, would equal to an air-conditioning unit. So make sure that you buy a low-wattage heater to minimize your costs.

However, there is always an alternative. You can still indulge in waterbeds and not buy a heater. How? The secret would come in the form of the beddings. Quilts, bed sheets, pillows, and other bedding covers could increase warmth. With your loved one around you to cuddle with during nighttime plus all those warm bedding covers, then the chill might almost pass unnoticed as you sleep in total slumber.
