If looking for used bikes is easy, then looking if it is still in good or even excellent working condition should not be hard as well. Here are some tips on how you can purchase wisely used bikes.
- Check the body of the bike itself. In this way, you will know if the bike is being taken care of properly. If there are rusts and corrosions anywhere in the body, this is a sign that the owner neglected to take care of it.
- The quickest and surefire way of checking if the used bike is in good running condition is to give it a test drive yourself.
- If you are going to buy it online, make sure that the auction site is a reputable one. There are some sites that check the products they sell themselves and only post those that they think are marketable. Be very wary of illegitimate auction websites though as there are a lot of them waiting to dupe ignorant people like you. I say ignorant not innocent because, really, anybody who buys online knows to check a website first before giving out his credit card number.
- Lastly, check the papers. Know if what you are buying is legitimate or not as there are some sellers selling stolen bikes.
