Landscape Garden Design for Small and Large Gardens
With the onset of more modern houses and apartments nowadays, it is more often than not that houses today look exactly what they are supposed to be – houses. But some people go the extra mile to make their houses more cozy and warm until they are no longer considered houses but are now their homes. One of the most common way to make your house more inviting and welcoming to both you and your visitors is by having a landscape garden for your home.
Where exactly did landscape gardens come from? Landscape gardens actually originated from China and Japan where gardens are a big thing. Some of the art that they include in their gardens are the bonsai (which is known to be an arrangement of plants in a single pot) and the Ikebana (which is the arrangement of flowers.) Now a popular way of designing one’s house, landscape garden uses these arts and adds some modern touches.
Apartments or Small Houses
Let’s admit that not all of us have houses that have big lawns or a vast land area. But don’t fret because even in a small apartment, landscape gardens are still doable and possible.
Though landscape garden are more common in larger spaces, this should not hinder you from getting one of your own. First, you must decide where to build your landscape garden. Take note that it would be best to place it somewhere your visitors and yourself would enjoy it. It you have a small balcony, maybe you can put it there. At least you will have no problem with the plants’ needed sunshine, and when you water the plants, you’ll have no problem cleaning up the mess afterwards. Once you know where to put your landscape garden, you may hire a professional landscape artist to help you design and decide what to put in your garden. If you’d like to do it on your own, then feel free to make a design that will reflect your own personality. Since we are limited by space, choose small plants to put in your garden like shrubs and maybe even some short growing trees.
Big Houses with Large Land Areas
One of the advantages of having large spaces for your landscape garden is that you can experiment and do whatever you want with it. Let your imagination run wild! If you hire a professional landscape artist, then tell him your ideas and what you want to see in your landscape garden. If you’re designing your own garden, then try to maximize your space and resources as much as you can. You can go to big lengths by including waterfalls in your garden, or you can even have a pond in your garden, complete with golden fishes and exquisite stones and rocks.
Wherever you may be, don’t feel limited by your resources and space. Try to maximize your house, and through the beauty and magic of landscape gardens, watch in awe as your house turns into a home.
