Dumper Trucks Training and Fun
Dumper trucks are vehicles with their tippers or load skip in front, unlike dump trucks where the cab is in front of the dump body or load. Like dump trucks, these are used to carry construction materials. However, the dumper truck is only for small-scale loads carrying up to 2 tons in the early days and approximately 10 tons in the modern dumper, depending on the specs of your dumper truck.
Usually diesel powered, the dumper truck can have a towing eye fitted for site tractor purposes. While the modern dumper is a bit more expensive to make because of hydraulics, multi-cylinder diesel engines and such – all of which the early dumpers didn’t have – they are nonetheless easier to use and more reliable.
Moreover, a Roll-Over Protection frame – ROPS – is fitted over the seat to protect the truck’s driver should it suddenly roll over. So the modern dumper is not only more efficient, it’s a lot safer, too.
Dumper Courses
Believe it or not, there is a Dumper Truck training course which will help the driver manage and control the dumper better, although you would have to ask your online school if they have it in your area and/or country.
This course will teach everything you need to know about dumper trucks from safe handling to troubleshooting to maximizing its use. Make sure that the school you enroll at has passed the standard health and safety laws of your state.
To make sure that your learning experience is up to par, these training schools have facilities much like those found in regular colleges including an IT center and a library. You will also get course materials for free – which could vary – from school to school so double-check this, too.
Dumper Racing
Then there is also the dumper truck racing. You will be driving your dumper truck around a specially-designed racecourse. Usually, you have to avoid penalties while driving around the course and all the fastest drivers get to compete until one winner will be left.
Before the race, however, there will be a short training course and some safety measures to ensure that your driving experience will be enjoyable. After which, you will be assigned a dumper truck with which you can practice handling and driving for a while until your turn comes up.
It seems you can have a lot more fun with the dumper truck while working compared to other dump trucks. For more info on these and other queries on dumper trucks, there are sites online that can accommodate your questions 24/7.
