Choosing between Stools and Chairs for Your Home and Business
Before, there was no such thing as a chair or a stool. It was nothing. Man used whatever nature had to offer him as something he could use to sit on. As man evolve, man became smart and started inventing things, including tables and its partner, chairs. From round chairs to triangular ones, man made them. But man was not satisfied with chairs alone. That is how stools were born, you might be wondering, What makes a stool a stool? Why isn’t a stool like a chair? Or is a stool really a chair?
The Difference between a Stool and a Chair
Chairs are the most common of two. It is known all around the world and is more commonly used than the stool. In other words, chairs are more popular than stools. Why stools were invited, I wouldn’t know. But the fact that we do have stools says something about the people who use it. Sometimes, more people prefer stools than chairs. So what’s the difference?
Both chair and stool are made up of four legs to keep it balanced. Although sometimes there are some chairs and stools that have only three legs for more uniqueness and design, the four legged ones are more common. What’s more, they both have something flat (or sometimes something curved) to sit on. The main difference is that chairs have a backrest while stools have nothing. It only has the legs and the main part where you can place your rear end.
Chairs Versus Stools
Chairs have backrests, that’s why it is more comfortable to sit on them. That’s the main advantage of chairs. But stools offer something that chairs might not have – the look and feel of being classy. This is the reason why stools are more popular in bars, diners and nightclubs. It gives you a feeling of socializing with the people around you while chairs are more popular in cafes and restaurants. So when your backside is starting to hurt, chairs offer something for your back in order for you to be less stressed and more relaxed. Both chairs and stools come in a variety of designs, colors, shapes, and sizes. Though out in the market, there are more chairs than stools. People are more in need of chairs than stools, therefore, manufacturers made chairs more attractive.
Whichever one you choose for your home, business or wherever, both stools and chairs will make your place a more beautiful space to be in.
